Anthill cake: a classic recipe

Another classic recipe from the MASALE family notebook – Anthill cake according to a classic recipe

  • without eggs
  • quick to prepare
  • a vegan version of the treat is possible

For the dough you will need:

½ cup regular sour cream or coconut cream
½ cup regular or shredded coconut sugar
250 g of regular butter or coconut oil
5 glasses of wheat flour
spices – as desired (vanilla, ground cardamom, star anise, Ceylon cinnamon, etc.)
any nuts or poppy seeds – as desired

For the cream:

Mix 1 can (approximately 400 ml) of boiled condensed milk with 150 g of melted butter

Preparation of the classic recipe for the Anthill cake:

  • In a bowl, thoroughly mix all the ingredients for the dough
  • Put the dough through a mesh with large holes in a meat grinder
  • The resulting long “worms” put the dough on a flour-dusted tray
  • Bake until golden on low or medium heat, enjoying the dizzyingly beautiful aroma of greasy crumbly dough
  • Let the dough cool and break it into small pieces with your hands – dough fat, so it crumbles as you need.
  • Combine the dough with cream and form, actually, an anthill in the form of a real anthill or termite mound, because make a cake in the form of portioned cakes according to the number of your guests. If you wish, you can sprinkle the cake with poppy seeds, nuts or sprinkle with chocolate.
  • Send the finished cake to a cool place for a few hours.
