Spicy rice porridge and coffee with cardamom

Masale-style breakfast: spicy rice porridge and coffee with cardamom

Ingredients for porridge:

basmati rice 1 teaspoon
water 6 cups (or coconut milk diluted with water)
salt
cinnamon 1 stick
turmeric on the tip tsp
cardamom 4 boxes (or ground 1/2 tsp)
ground nutmeg on the tip of a tsp
rice flour 2 tbsp.
coconut sugar
coconut oil

Preparation:

  • Add 5 cups of water, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, turmeric, and salt to the rice.
  • Put it to cook on medium heat, without covering it with a lid.
  • Add rice flour and sugar to a cup of water.
  • Stir thoroughly so that there are no lumps and the sugar dissolves.
  • When the rice is ready, add water and flour to it, pre-mixing it. Cook on low heat for another 5 minutes.
  • If desired, you can add raisins or pieces of coconut. When serving, decorate with fresh fruit

Ingredients for coffee:

  • ground black coffee
  • a pinch of ground black pepper
  • cardamom 2 boxes (or at the tip of a teaspoon ground)
  • cinnamon

Making coffee:

Add coffee, black pepper, cardamom, and cinnamon to cold water.
Cook over low heat until the coffee is ready.
