Kerala-style rice with gravy

Just rice with gravy in the Kerala style.
An interesting solution instead of boring porridge. Try it. Maybe this is your recipe.

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • rice 1/2 cup
  • large potatoes
  • small carrots
  • garlic 1 clove
  • walnuts or cashews 50 g
  • raisins 1 tbsp.
  • coconut oil
  • turmeric on the tip of a knife
  • curry leaves to taste
  • cinnamon 1 stick
  • coriander 1/2 tsp
  • white pepper to taste
  • cardamom 1 box
  • fennel pinch
  • cumin pinch
  • salt
  • sugar
  1. Boil the rice and season it with coconut oil.
  2. Peel, cut and cook the carrots.
  3. While the carrots are cooking, peel and cut the potatoes (there should be 3 times more than carrots), add to the carrots and add enough water to cover the vegetables.
  4. Add to the vegetables turmeric, fennel, cumin, cardamom, coriander, white pepper (depending on the desired spiciness), leaves curry, a stick of cinnamon, a few cloves of garlic, salt.
  5. When the vegetables are ready, remove them from the heat and grind them with a blender, having previously removed the cinnamon.
  6. Add paprika, chopped nuts, raisins, a pinch of sugar and put on the fire again for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Place the rice in a cone on a plate, make a hole in the middle, put vegetable sauce in it and decorate with curry leaves or herbs
