Ingredients for apple layer
- 6 medium apples, cut into cubes
- 5 teaspoons of lemon juice
- 1/2 cup coconut sugar or your favorite sweetener
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch of sea salt
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
For the upper layer
- 3/4 cup coconut sugar or your favorite sweetener
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- a pinch of sea salt
- 3 tablespoons of coconut oil

- Cut the apples into chunks and place in a large bowl.
- Add the remaining ingredients to the bowl (lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, sea salt, and cornstarch) and mix with the apples.
- In a separate bowl, combine all the ingredients for the top layer. Melt the coconut oil before adding to the mixture. The top layer should be moist and at the same time crumbly
- Place the apple mixture in a baking dish
- Cover the apples evenly with the top layer.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the apples are bubbling and the top is brown.
- Let cool for 15-20 minutes before serving.
