Pink peppercorns, 20 g

Country of origin:

Spicy-sweet taste

Brief description:

Cascade vine of the Piperaceae family.

Spicy – unpeeled fruits of the second stage of ripening. How spices come in the following types: green, red pepper, black, white. Which corresponds to the degree of ripening of the fruit.

Pink peppercorns are famous for their subtle floral aroma and sweet fruity taste.

Peas of pink (red) pepper are obtained similarly to green, but already from mature fruits, and the preserved red pericarp gives this type of pepper a slightly sweet taste. Slow drying of red ripe grains gives a rather bitter variety “Pondicherry”.

Red pepper vine peas remain on the vine until they are fully ripe, which takes about four months. However, this is difficult to achieve, as the berries are quite attractive to birds and insects. The process of obtaining red pepper is aggravated by difficult weather conditions and winds that can damage the most delicate fruits of the creeper. These grains retain their color during the drying process, which is why they are called the funniest peppers 🙂

The use of pink pepper peas in cooking
  • It goes well with fish and seafood, as well as with meat.
  • Adds spiciness to green salads and sauces.
  • In the same way, pink pepper is often used as a decoration and a source of exotic taste of craft chocolate and in baking.
  • In addition to a bright and juicy structure, it gives a raisin to pies with berries and cupcakes.
  • The best friend of citrus and fruit salads.
  • In the East, pink peppercorns (however, like any type of pepper) are often added to coffee and other drinks

Due to its peculiar aroma, which quickly evaporates, it is recommended to grind or add whole peas to the dish immediately before serving, so that the taste is revealed at the right time.
