Chili pepper (chopped)

Chili pepper (chopped)

Country of origin:

Sharp, burning

Brief description:

Chili flakes are dried, crushed red chili pods. They contain the pulp and seeds of the plant, which adds sharpness to the spice. After all, the largest amount of capsaicin, the substance that adds hotness chili, is contained precisely in the seeds and inner plates of the pepper.

There are several varieties and sizes of chili peppers, all of them differ in aroma, degree of spiciness and color – from green, yellow to the familiar red chili pepper or even black. The degree of spiciness depends on the type of pepper, not on its color, for example, red chilies are simply more ripe than green ones.

Use of chili pepper in cooking

It is recommended to wear rubber gloves before cooking with chilies, do not hold chilies close to your face, and wash your hands thoroughly after cooking.

If chili is not the most common spice for you, use it in small quantities for the first time. After all, you definitely would not like to get tears from your eyes or feel a fire in your throat.

If you use chili or any other hot pepper for cooking, reduce the amount of salt used. Pepper by itself will make the taste of your dish richer.

Sometimes, before using chili, it is pre-soaked in hot water for 30 minutes to reduce the bitterness. But this most often applies to whole peppers, not flakes.

  • Chili is a universal spice, natural antiseptic, preservative and is added to dishes almost all over the world. Hot pepper can give a special color, aroma and taste to any food.
  • Chili is used when cooking soups, curries, stewed vegetables, fish and meat.
  • Add to sauces, pastes and marinades. They say that sauces with red pepper can give an exquisite taste even to an old shoe 😉
  • Chili is chosen for cooking rice and legumes – pepper promotes better digestion of foods difficult for the digestive tract
  • It will be delicious to add red pepper to potatoes in combination with garlic, coriander, cumin, basil and curry leaves – here is a spicy masala ready for you.
  • Coffee and chocolate are brewed with hot pepper and added to baked goods. But this, of course, is all up to the amateur.

The brain of lovers of hot peppers receives information that the body is in danger and releases endorphins into the blood to reduce the shock after eating the same chili or cayenne pepper. And since there is no real danger to health, people just enjoy it. An unusual way to get sensual pleasure, but to each his own 🙂
  • Also, due to the release of this hormone, it is possible to relieve pain of various nature, especially in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. That is why red pepper is often included in therapeutic warming ointments for external use
  • In the course of some studies, it was proven that the alkaloid capsaicin, among other things, stimulates hair growth. But we would not recommend you to conduct such experiments without consulting specialists.

Chili pepper is not recommended for use with individual food intolerance of the product and those suffering from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver and kidneys!
But if you are healthy, a large amount of red hot pepper, eaten by mistake (or on purpose – for the purpose of an experiment), of course, will not “eat” the mucous membrane, as many fear, but will simply provide you with a few unpleasant minutes in terms of worldview; )
